Sunday Scripture Sharing

The many riches contained in the one word of God are admirably brought out in the different kinds of liturgical celebrations and in different gatherings of the faithful who take part in those celebrations.  This takes place as the unfolding mystery of Christ is recalled during the course of the liturgical year.

The Scriptures are the living waters from which all who seek life and salvation must drink.

The more profound our understanding of the celebration of the liturgy, the higher our appreciation of the importance of God’s word.  Whatever we say of the one, we can in turn say of the other, because each recalls the mystery of Christ and each in its own way causes the mystery to be carried forward.

-Introduction of the Lectionary for Mass

Sunday Scripture Sharing is an ongoing opportunity to deepen your appreciation and understanding of the Bible texts proclaimed each Sunday at Mass.  In a prayerful and welcoming setting a group of parishioners, with the guidance of a priest or deacon, reads and reflects on the Scripture passages that will be a part of the weekend Liturgy.

This time is a unique opportunity to have some questions answered and to experience and share how the Lord speaks to us as we journey on life’s way.  The sharing of Scripture and life’s experiences allow for a Better understanding of each Sunday Mass and the whole liturgical year of the Church:  A chance to walk and listen to Jesus.

The gathering takes place on Saturday mornings at 9:45 under the Gathering Space Chandelier.  All are welcomed.  Bibles provided.

Were not our hearts on fire while he spoke to us on the way and opened the Scriptures to us? – Luke 24:32
